Actor Tom Felton of Harry Potter fame has recently released his memoir, called Beyond the Wand: The Magic and Mayhem of Growing Up a Wizard. In it, the 35-year-old discloses his experience growing up famous, escaping rehab and, yes, his thoughts on fellow Harry Potter actors, including his decades-long friendship with 32-year-old co-star Emma Watson.
Fondly called “Dramione” (a combination of their Harry Potter characters’ names – Draco and Hermione) by fans who hoped the two actors would date in real life, the two now find themselves in the spotlight once again following Felton’s revelations in his book.
Felton and Watson first met in 1999 at auditions for the first Harry Potter film (released in 2001) and have remained good friends since – that’s more than two decades and counting. Despite the rumours and even Dramione fan fiction written by fans from all over the world, the two maintain that they’re just friends – soul mates, in fact, Watson has said – but have never dated. Still, fans can’t get enough of the sweet words they always have for each other. Here, we take a look back at their decades-long relationship.
